Recycling industry software provider AMCS Group announced Nov. 16 it has acquired Dossier Systems for an undisclosed amount. Philadelphia-based Dossier Systems is a leading provider of fleet maintenance management software. Limerick, Ireland-based AMCS announced Nov. 8 the release of its AMCS Platform Winter 21, which builds on the existing AMCS Platform, an enterprise-grade software platform that runs in the cloud and is designed based on the best practice processes of thousands of recycling companies across the globe.
“We are very excited to expand our business with the acquisition of Dossier Systems, a brand that has earned a national reputation in North America as one of the most trusted names in the industry,” states Jimmy Martin, AMCS’ CEO and cofounder. “This acquisition will enable us to deliver and support Dossier’s unique software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for fleet maintenance on a global scale.”
Dossier’s cloud-based software automates the control and administration of fleet vehicles and other assets. It uses real-time data to create customizable reports. The software helps companies reduce downtime and maintenance costs, extend life of equipment, reduce parts costs and inventory, increase productivity, and reduce fuel and tire costs, AMCS says.
Martin says Dossier will be integrated into the AMCS Platform with AMCS’ existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, smart dispatch, mobile workforce, vehicle technology and route optimization. Over 750 new customers will be added to the existing AMCS customer base.

Features of AMCS Platform Winter 21 include new processes, workflows, and functionality to manage end-to-end service operations for metal recyclers. Highlights include a new touchscreen scale station to speed up the weigh-and-pay function and to manage purchases from walk-in trade; extended inventory management to supply a comprehensive real-time view of inventory status; and inventory valuation including support for adjustments and automated period closing. It also includes new production management capabilities that enable recyclers to plan and record their processing activity.

The Winter 21 release also includes new initiatives designed to streamline application integration. The API Accelerator Program introduces a new, simplified, API management, design, and development approach; this will offer greater resources and expert support to all customers who want to integrate AMCS Platform with their other applications. Other highlights of the release are:
- Multi-level value hierarchy extended to scale and material grading, all-inclusive container combo valuing, and the ability to apply negotiated weights to calculate charges;
- A streamlined process for customer service to manage changes to order quantity, frequency, and product offerings;
- Event-based Systems Management Server customer service notifications for skip and roll-off work with real-time updates on service activity including delivery, exchange, and removal; and
- New Smart Dispatch to manage and track container jobs, where each stop may involve one or more tasks. Also included is a resource management API to align staff availability in a human resources system with Smart Dispatch rostering.
