ISRI’s current Director-At-Large Sean Daoud has been named the recipient of the 2023 Young Executive of the Year Award. Daoud was selected for the honor due to his numerous contributions and accomplishments within ISRI and the recycled materials industry as a young professional. He is an industry professional who always puts the industry first in his leadership and professional decisions.
“Sean Daoud exemplifies the qualities of the Young Executive of the Year Award,” said ISRI President Robin Wiener. “ISRI is pleased to present this important award to Sean in recognition of his outstanding leadership, initiative, and vision for the recycled materials industry of tomorrow.”
Sean is a second-generation recycler who serves as vice president, treasurer and shareholder of his family’s business, PNW Metal Recycling, Inc, which has five locations in Oregon and three locations in Washington state.
Daoud has held several ISRI leadership positions on both the chapter and national levels, including service as a former Pacific-Northwest Chapter President and National Finance Committee Chair. He was also one of three founding co-chairs of ISRI’s Young Executives Council in 2018. He is currently serving as ISRI’s Co-Chair of the Membership Committee.
“It is very humbling to receive this award and to be in the ranks of prior recipients,” said Daoud. “ISRI has given me so many opportunities to learn and grow professionally, and personally, via leadership roles and networking with other peers in the industry. ISRI’s Leadership and many of its members have become family, friends, and mentors, which makes the work even more meaningful and enjoyable. I am lucky that my company and partners all see the value of ISRI. I appreciate all the support ISRI, its’ members, my company, and family have given me.”
In addition to his work with ISRI, Daoud has served on several non-profit boards, notably on the PNW Playworks board where he helped form the Emerging Leaders Board. He is currently serving in a supporting role for legislative affairs to the Oregon Alzheimer’s Association Board. Sean has been with his wife, Tami, for 10 years and they have a beautiful daughter, Blakely.
ISRI’s Young Executive of the Year Award was created to promote the accomplishments of successful, young professionals in the recycled materials industry by highlighting their contributions and dedication, along with a high degree of leadership potential. The award will be presented to Sean on Thursday, April 20, as part of the ISRI2023 Convention and Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee.
